Visiting paddlers from as far away as Hood River, OR came out for our weekly race and Puget Sound did not let us down. Winds starting whipping in a not so classic convergence zone right in the entrance to Elliott Bay with West Point Lighthouse reading 15 Knott northerlies and Alki Point Lighthouse reading 22 Knott southerlies an hour before start. Everything was upgraded to a small craft warning right at 7:00, so we paddled into it.

Given that, a new course record was set…and a giant SBX 1 Radar was being moved so there was a ton of Coast Guard activity and cutter wakes.
